Year End Review 2008

Tonight will be our last City Council meeting for my first year. I expect a packed house, we have a public hearing on the proposed 2% hospitality tax (this should draw the regulars out) and the sidewalk sales of animals ordinance will be introduced.

I can not put into words how I feel at this time in my life.

I will try by telling you that I am thankful.

I am thankful for this whole year and those to come.
I am thankful for the experiences I have gained in this year.
I am thankful for every meal that was put before me.
I am thankful for every motion, resolution and ordinance that I had to research.
I am thankful for the people that I was fortunate enough to meet.
I am thankful for being asked to represent the City of Yuma.
I am thankful for leading the pledge in our early meetings.
I am thankful for the time and experience of being on live TV and radio.
I am thankful for my colleagues, who have experience and wisdom.
I am thankful for my administrator, who I have learned a great deal from.
I am thankful that I am finishing this list as I sit on the dais.

5:30pm – The gavel is down, time for roll call.
